AirSpun Expands Broadcast Music Showcase Concept to Mobile Phones and Global Online Destinations

San Mateo, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) August 21, 2007 -- AirSpun, Inc. today announced the addition of several new media offerings to its rapidly growing community of music artists and fans, including RSS feeds, mobile phone showcases, and an AirGods music program/podcast. Together with the company's radio airtime reservation system, the new media services round out a full suite of cost-effective, global marketing tools for bands and give fans new ways to discover the most popular music from emerging artists.

AirSpun launched its new music RSS feed at www.airspun.com/rss to extend the distribution of music "AirSpots" (60-second promotional music spots) beyond the broadcast airwaves to global online audiences. Every broadcast and online radio showcase slot purchased at airspun.com also gets automatically included in the RSS feeds at no extra cost. RSS feed placement is also available to bands seeking only online distribution at an entry-level price of $10.

"We've been pleasantly surprised at the ramp in popularity of our RSS feeds for both bands and fans," says AirSpun CEO Heidi Elgaard. "We plan to expand our RSS and other online distribution offerings to maximize the reach of every media campaign."

In association with VoiceIndigo, AirSpun's mobile phone showcases for bands are available for purchase at airspun.com and include production of a promotional spot including the band name and a link for more information. The VoiceIndigo service powers Samsung Mobile Podcasts. Other mobile distribution partners include Ericsson Services, Cellmania, Palm, Infoworld, and hundreds of content providers across the net. Each mobile music showcase remains active in the AirSpun/VoiceIndigo music channel for 2 weeks.

While AirSpun is best-known for pioneering legal, 60-second music showcases for radio, the company has also been branching out into full-length, interactive music programming with its syndicated AirGods podcast and programs. Music fans visiting airspun.com can download the AirGods podcast and vote on their favorite of each month's featured AirGods artists. iPod users can also download the full program through iTunes at http://www.itunes.com/podcast?id=257705171 AirGods winners receive free radio placements and other promotional opportunities. The August AirGods, for example, will be featured in the Undiscovered Radio Network program syndicated in six U.S. cities with full-song play: the AirGods/Undiscovered segment is scheduled to air on all six stations on August 26th.

AirSpun's hybrid online/offline approach to music marketing and promotion represents a major evolution in the promotional tools available to independent artists, giving them an opportunity to increase the number of songs or CDs they sell without giving up a lion's share of their royalties.
