Classic Rock Band Kansas to Headline 4th Annual Septemberfest Music Festival in Eagan, Sept. 22

Eagan, Minn. (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 -- Classic rock band Kansas (http://www.kansasband.com/) will headline Faithful Shepherd Catholic School?s fourth annual Septemberfest (http://www.septemberfest.info/), a two-night music festival in Eagan, on Saturday, Sept. 22. Known for classic rock hits ? such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind"? Kansas is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its classic album, "Point of Know Return," which reached #4 on the Billboard album chart. Septemberfest?s Friday, Sept. 21, headline act is local favorite blues/rock/funk/soul band Root City, joined by the band?s former lead guitarist and vocalist, Alex Rossi.

Opening for Kansas on Sept. 22 are Heartbreaker (http://www.heartbreakerband.com/), which has worked with many national acts, such as Loverboy, REO Speedwagon, Eddie Money, Night Ranger, Molly Hatchet and Septemberfest?s 2005 headliner Davy Jones of the Monkees; and the Zebra Mussels, a hometown band with a flair for covering block party favorites and a wide range of musical styles. The Zebra Mussels helped kick off the inaugural Septemberfest in 2004.

Root City?s opening acts are pop/rock trio Catchpenny, a band that has earned glowing reviews for its latest release, "From Where You Are," and is poised to become a household name; and Uncle Chunk, a popular regional band and mainstay of the Twin Cities? live music scene.

"We are thrilled to bring Kansas to the Septemberfest and continue our tradition of attracting nationally recognized bands to the ?biggest little block party in the ?burbs,?" said Father Charlie Lachowitzer, Faithful Shepherd board chair and St. John Neumann pastor who was instrumental in bringing Davy Jones to the 2005 event. "We?re building our reputation as a fun, high-quality, South-of-the-River music festival featuring great national acts and regional favorites in an intimate venue. Septemberfest is becoming a ?can?t miss? event on the third weekend September that draws a loyal base of area music fans."

Septemberfest takes place on the grounds of Faithful Shepherd Catholic School, located in Eagan at 3355 Columbia Drive (just east of the intersection of Yankee Doodle Road and Lexington Ave.; less than eight miles southeast of the Mall of America). Event hours are 6 p.m. to midnight both nights; the ticket gate opens at 5:30 p.m. each night. The event takes place rain or shine under a 128,000-square-foot concert pavilion that combines the benefits of an open-air music festival with shelter from cool fall weather and rain.

Ticket prices are $15 for each night, $25 for both nights. Parking is free. Attendees under age 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Refreshments will be offered, including beer, soda and water, as well as food catered by Jake?s restaurant. To purchase Septemberfest tickets online or for more event information visit www.septemberfest.info or call 651-389-4242. Tickets also will be sold at the event gate. Event proceeds benefit Faithful Shepherd.
